The drum may come out, or the drum may slip or be crushed when lifted by the core or diameter. This movement problem can usually be solved by using a higher torque unit to lift the drum. In some cases, units with higher torque ratings are still not enough to prevent the drum from telescoping or slipping during lifting. In such cases, alternative solutions are needed.
This problem can be solved by using roll handling equipment with adjustable clamps inside the clamping fixture. Adjustable holders are designed to hold spools and reels of varying diameters and lengths, all of which can be lifted using a clamping fixture.
