The company says Classic Tube stainless steel is 304 grade and is double annealed for ease of flaring and bending. Stainless steel is not affected by salt and other elements that damage the metal.
OE steel is annealed cold rolled (CR) low carbon continuous welded pipe. The original steel pipe is protected from the weather by a two part system: a Galfan galvanized coating and a high aluminum content epoxy coating. The company claims this advanced protection provides a 4,000-hour salt spray rating. All of the company’s steel pipe coils comply with SAE J526 specification for single wall pipe with one weld or SAE J527 specification for double wall pipe with two weld seams. Fittings are manufactured in accordance with SAE J512 specifications. According to company representatives, all lines have been stress-tested and tested for safety.
Classic Tube is a manufacturer of pre-bent tubes to OEM specifications or designs for hydraulic systems in automobiles, trucks, vans, commercial vehicles, construction vehicles and school buses.

The benefits of Carrier Transicold’s new Vector 8500 single-temperature hybrid trailer refrigeration unit include lighter weight, higher capacity and improved fuel efficiency, according to the company. With the Vector 8500, Carrier also introduced a hermetic electric scroll compressor for refrigeration container systems that has 70% fewer moving parts and is 200 pounds lighter than traditional reciprocating compressors. The Carrier Transicold Vector 8500 is equipped with ecoFORWARD technology developed by the manufacturer. Compared to its successful unit, the new Vector 8500: • 210 pounds lighter, or 10% • Delivers up to 4% more cooling capacity of 60,000 BTUs at 35°F and 24,000 BTUs at -20°F • Reduces fuel consumption up to 26% fuel consumption under all operating conditions and • Reduces engine running time by up to 14%. In start/stop mode, the more power and increased efficiency also help the Vector 8500 reach its set point faster, allowing the motor to stop earlier, ultimately reducing motor run time and associated costs, Carrier says. The Vector 8500 engine is certified to 2013 EPA Tier 4 for engines under 25 hp. For fleets operating in California for more than 7 years, the Vector platform’s standard electrical standby capability provides on-the-fly compliance capability.
